Former Broward County Mayor Dr. Barbara Sharief today announced her endorsement of Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis in her race for Broward County Commission District 7

Today, Dr. Barbara Sharief and Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis announce that they have endorsed each other in their races for State Senate and Broward County Commission. Vice Mayor Alexandra Davis is running to represent the constituency that Dr. Sharief once represented on the Broward County Commission.
Dr. Sharief said, “I have seen firsthand the Vice Mayor’s dedication to our diverse communities, and I know she will be a staunch advocate for the people of Broward County in District 7. “Dr. Sharief went on to say “During these trying times it will be wonderful to have an ally like Vice Mayor Davis to work with when we are both elected. As the former Mayor of Broward County, I understand the importance of having a good working relationship between our state and county elected officials as we work for the betterment of our community.”
Vice Mayor Davis said about her endorsement of Dr. Sharief to fill the open District 35 seat currently held by Lauren Book, “I look forward to working with Dr. Sharief as she enters the Florida Senate. She will be an asset to our district, crafting much-needed legislation and fighting to secure funds for our districts.” The largest cities in Commission District 7 are Hollywood, Miramar, and Pembroke Pines.
Dr. Sharief has two opponents, Chad Klitzman and Rodney Jacobs Jr. in her race for Senate District 35, polling has her with a whopping 50-point lead in that race over both.
District 35 cities include Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Cooper City, Weston, Sunrise, and Southwest Ranches.
